Red Flag Therapy Scams
When you're desperate to help your kid, it’s easy to fall for promises. But in the autism world, that desperation has created an entire industry of fake fixes and false hope.
🚩 Watch Out For:
- “Cure” language — autism isn’t a disease
- Therapies that shame, punish, or force eye contact
- High-pressure sales tactics (“This discount expires tonight!”)
- Claims that require total isolation from the world
- Anything that costs thousands without transparency
Some legit therapies are pricey. But if someone won’t explain exactly how it works, show results from real people, or let you talk to other families — run.
You are not a bad parent for wanting more. But you are your child’s protector — not just from the world, but from the vultures pretending to help.
Trust your gut. If it feels off, it probably is.
